Privacy Policy
This policy explains what data this site — a personal portfolio at aaradhyadt.github.io — collects, how "Sign in with Google" and the tiered access system work, and who else processes your data when you use the contact form. This is a personal, non-commercial site with no backend server or database of its own.
1. Who runs this site
This site is owned and operated by Aaradhya Dev Tamrakar. For any privacy question, contact aaradhyadevtmr@gmail.com.
2. Sign in with Google
The site offers an optional "Sign in with Google" button, used only to unlock an extra content tier — Higher Tier (VIP) — that shows extra portfolio detail. It is never required to browse, read, or use the rest of the site.
When you sign in with Google, this happens entirely in your own browser:
- Google's Sign-In script returns a credential (ID token) containing your name, email address, and profile picture — the standard basic profile fields Google shares for Sign-In.
- That token is decoded locally, in your browser, to check whether your email matches an allow-list for tiered access.
- The result — your name, email, picture, and assigned tier — is saved only in your browser's
localStorage, a storage area private to your device and this site's domain. - None of this is sent to, or stored on, any server operated by this site. There is no backend and no database — the site is static, hosted on GitHub Pages.
Google acts as the identity provider for this sign-in. Your use of "Sign in with Google" is also subject to Google's own Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
You can end this locally-stored session at any time using the "Log out" option in the site's Access
Control panel, which clears it from your browser's localStorage. Clearing your browser's
site data for this domain has the same effect.
3. Passcode-based access (no Google account)
Higher Tier content can also be unlocked with a shared passcode instead of Google Sign-In. This method
does not collect your name, email, or any personal information — it stores only the tier level and
passcode used, again in your browser's localStorage.
4. Contact form
The contact form on the Connect page sends your name, email address, subject, and message so a reply can reach you. This is handled by one of the following, in order of preference, depending on availability:
| Service | Role | Their policy |
|---|---|---|
| EmailJS | Delivers your message as an email, sent directly from your browser | Privacy Policy |
| Formspree | Fallback form-submission relay if EmailJS is unavailable | Privacy Policy |
| Your mail client | Final fallback — opens a pre-filled mailto: email in your default mail app |
N/A — sent directly by you |
Message content is used solely to respond to you and is not used for marketing or shared with any other party.
5. Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate visitor traffic — pages viewed, approximate location, device/browser type, and general engagement. This data is pseudonymous and used only to improve the site. See Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
6. Cookies & local storage
This site does not set its own tracking cookies. Google Analytics may set cookies as described in
its own policy above. The site itself uses your browser's localStorage — not
cookies — to remember your theme preference and, if you choose to sign in, your access tier. This
stays on your device and is never transmitted anywhere.
7. Data retention
Locally-stored session data (tier, passcode, and any Google profile fields) persists in your
browser's localStorage until you log out or clear your browser's site data — it has no
separate expiry set by this site. Contact-form messages are retained only in the site owner's own
email inbox, for as long as any email is normally kept.
8. Children's privacy
This site is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as the site changes. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
10. Contact
Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to aaradhyadevtmr@gmail.com.
